Project Development Director (all genders)

Your future tasks:

  • Work closely with fellow Commercial & Development team members and regional leads to identify, prioritise and align the relevant strategic projects for our future pipeline and shape our development optimisation roadmap.
  • Actively contribute to strategic discussions, bringing fresh perspectives, creative problem-solving and innovative ideas to the table.
  • Be a trusted sparring partner and collaborator to senior management.
  • Contribute to and support the preparation and implementation of the commercial development strategy.
  • Interface with critical Executive Committee team members to enhance the matrix collaboration between the Commercial & Development and other Executive Committee teams and optimisation of interconnected processes, methodologies and communication.
  • Work closely with Finance and Investment teams on debt and equity funding for development projects.
  • Support Commercial & Development team in the development and continuous improvement of processes, tools, methodologies and criteria selection.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for value engineering throughout the development phase of projects.
  • Collaborate with internal counterparts to bridge the gap between commercial knowledge and other functional areas.
  • Drive strategies to maximise development project and portfolio value, considering factors including but not limited to, Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE), return objectives, and market dynamics.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and knowledge sharing processes.
  • Monitor industry trends, market conditions, technology innovation, competitor activity, competitive landscape and regulatory changes to identify potential opportunities and challenges for the company and support adaptation of strategies and approaches accordingly.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including investors, project partners, relevant strategic partners, and your wider industry network.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical commercial concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Actively participate in internal working groups, advisory groups, and steering committees or boards.
  • Represent the company on relevant industry working groups and at events or other external engagements or communications.

Your profile:

  • At least 10 years in the offshore wind activity and infrastructure opportunity investment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Proven track record of success in business development, and market expansion within the energy or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of energy markets, including emerging trends, regulatory dynamics, and competitive landscape.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working in emerging markets and navigating regulatory and public affairs challenges is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in origination and development of partnerships, contracts, and SPVs to drive commercial growth.
