This role will be based in our Skyborn office in Hamburg, Germany. You will report directly to our Chief Finance Officer (CFO).

Head of Group Controlling (all genders)

Your future tasks:

  • Lead and coordinate Skyborn’s financial-, corporate- and project controlling activities, ensuring adherence to group accounting principles and corporate policies.
  • Mentor and develop the controlling team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly financial reporting, providing accurate and timely reporting to support strategic decision-making at corporate and project level.
  • Collaborate closely with our headquarter accounting team and regional finance teams to ensure consistency in financial reporting and alignment with corporate timetables and guidance.
  • Manage financial planning and budgeting processes for the group, analyzing variances and providing insights to enhance financial performance.
  • Develop and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures in the controlling function to safeguard assets and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with project developers and project directors to monitor project financials, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support the Head of Accounting with the performance of the external audit.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices, providing relevant insights to the leadership team.

Your profile:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or similar.
  • Proven experience and expertise within financial controlling.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of international accounting standards IFRS and HGB regulations.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with financial software and systems SAP S/4HANA knowledge beneficial, but not a requirement.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluent English and ideally German language skills.
